Very large cloth with the image of Joseph Malula made in 1984. Joseph Malula (1917-1989) was the Archbishop of Congo. The text on the upper side of cloth reads:”Episcopal Jubilee of His Eminence Cardinal Malula”, and below:”Archbishop of Kinshasa”.
The cloth was made in the United Kingdom for the export to African markets. Most likely the cloth was made to cut up into several pieces for use troughout the country. It is 5.5 meter or 216 inches long. It has never been used.
Joseph-Albert Malula was a Congolese Catholic prelate who served as Archbishop of Kinshasa from 1964 until his death. He was elevated to the cardinalate in 1969. On 18 July 1959.
