The Association of Czech Graphic Artists Hollar was founded in 1917 under the leadership of T. F. Simona. The association gave itself the name of the famous engraver Václav Hollar. Artists could become member of this organisation.
The first member exhibition was held in 1918, from 1923 the collection Hollar was published, as well as graphic sheets, albums, lists of works by members. The program of the association was the technical perfection of graphic work and the continuation of 19th century traditions. Since 1956, it has functioned as a Hollar group at the SČVU, oriented towards more aggressive and experimental directions and the promotion of Czech graphic arts abroad.
