Rubik R 22 Super Futár Production from 1943 to 1958. Glider designed by Ernö Rubik, number HA-4717.
It is a varnished wood model made in the 1960s and is very large. It stands on an aluminum bracket attached to a varnished oak base. In good condition with minor paint damage and age-related crazing. Ernő Rubik (born 1910, Austria-Hungary, now Slovakia, 1997) was a Hungarian aircraft designer and the father of Ernő Rubik, the architect famous for his mechanical puzzles, such as the Rubik's Cube. Early life Rubik was born in Austria-Hungary (present-day Slovakia).
His father was missing in action on the Eastern Front in 1915. The war orphan enrolled at the Budapest University of Technology in 1929 to study mechanical engineering.
