Postcard made in the DDR called:”Marx Engels Bridge”. The bridge was build between 1821-1824. In 1912 the bridge was enlarged and equipped with a reinforced concrete structure in the 1920s. The bridge suffered only minor damage in World War II. In 1951 the East German authorities renamed it Marx-Engels-Brücke. The bridge was renamed to it’s original name (Schlossbrucke) in 1991, one year after German reunification.
