This poster is from 1971 so more than 44 years old. It was made for the National Day of Hungary wich is celebrated every year on the 2oth of augustus.
In the year 1000 King Stephen was the first king of Hungary and he is regarded as the founder of Hungary. On the 20th of august in 1083 he was decleared a saint. So this day is also known as St. Stephen’s Day. This day is still widly celebrated in Hungary and is a public holiday.
His year of birth is unknown but he died in 1038. He unified the country but after his death there was civil wars for decades.
