During the Civil War, Lenin and other central executive committee members used the cars of the imperial garage. Then requisitioned cars were brought to this garage. In the process of intensive use in the absence of spare parts, the Rolls-Royces proved to be the most durable. Broken cars from other brands were exchanged for broken Royles-Royces from other garages to use their parts.
The head of the garage, Alexander Pavlovich Medvedev, insisted on the purchase of Royle-Royce. He argued for this decision by the fact that cars of this brand are very reliable and will be cheaper in service than Mercedes.
